Colwill Engineering was founded in 1989 with the mission of bringing a new level of detail and professionalism to the electrical design industry. The philosophy stemmed from the founder’s executive and design build experience with a nationally based contracting concern. The concept was well received by clients as they recognized the benefits of the process. Thorough research of requirements, accurate life cycle comparisons of potential solutions, and detailed construction documents proved to provide a great deal more value than they had previously experienced. Unparalleled contract administration provided by true construction professionals completed the goal of having the company’s services viewed as an investment rather than a cost.

As success brought about growth, the focus remained on adding personnel with practical construction knowledge and experience. This philosophy has remained throughout the evolution into a multi disciplinary group, with expanded offerings including mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection services. Satisfied clients with national scopes of operation have led to licensing and performance in numerous states plus Puerto Rico.

Expansion and re-structure in 2001 to include Design Build electrical construction services was the next logical progression. What better way to complement a design group that understands the practical side of construction than to have a construction group that understands the intricacies of design, integrity, and the necessity for professionalism.

Later, Technologies was introduced, which expanded our services to include design and installation of low voltage systems. This understanding is what allows for the preparation and documentation of accurate, competitive, conceptual pricing proposals; an ability which our clients find extremely valuable.
